Scholarship programs
School of Medicine Scholarships
- Most scholarships received by medical students are institutionally funded from donations and gifts from alumni and friends of our school.
- Scholarship recipients are selected by the School of Medicine Scholarship and Financial Aid Committee or according to its guidelines. The committee is made up of faculty and staff. The committee meets as needed – usually three to four times per year.
- We have a good mixture of need-based and merit-based scholarships. To be considered, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the School of Medicine Scholarship Application. The FAFSA can be completed online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. You will receive a scholarship application after you are formally admitted to the School of Medicine starting in January.
- Continuing students will be sent via email a scholarship application and a reminder to file an electronic FAFSA in January. Both must be completed annually in order to renew your financial aid.
- There is no set deadline for the scholarship application; however, for priority consideration we ask that you submit your application by April 1, or for new students, as soon as you are admitted.
