These private, non-institutional scholarships are available to medical students from certain areas of the state that demonstrate need.

Several private, non-institutional scholarships are available to students from certain racial or ethnic backgrounds who demonstrate need:

• Minority medical Students
  National Medical Fellowships
  NMF is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the number of minority physicians. This site provides information about NMF's scholarships and other programs.
  
  
• American Indian medical students
  American Indian Graduate Center
  The center provides need-based scholarship aid to American Indians pursuing graduate and professional degrees.
