Loan Exit Counseling
You have made a significant financial investment in your future. Because of this, the U.S. Department of Education requires that upon separation from school, you are given guidance on the repayment of that debt in the form of an “Exit Interview”. Since it is a federal requirement to complete exit counseling, a hold is placed on your diploma and transcript until the counseling is completed. An email will be sent to you with instructions on completing the counseling online. Here are the web sites:
An informational group session is scheduled for April 29, 2010 to discuss managing your loans through residency. Here is the information that will be shared and discussed in that session.
Loan servicer sites and contact informationIf you don't know who's servicing your federal loans, try the National Student Loan Data System. This federal web site lists what you owe and who is servicing the loan. You will need your federal PIN to access the site. It's the same one the federal government issued you to fill out the FAFSA on the web. If you do not have it, you can request it at the site.Direct Loan Servicing This site provides information about your Direct Loans, including repayment options, consolidation, frequently asked questions, etc. It will also let you access borrower account information to check your current balance and repayment status. You can even download deferment and forbearance forms after your grace periods are up. The telephone number is 1(800) 848-0979. MU Student Loan Repayment Center The University of Missouri is your lender if you borrowed Federal Perkins Loans, Federal Primary Care Loans, Loans for Disadvantaged Students or University long-term loans. The servicer for these loans is ECSI. The telephone number for MU Loans is (573) 882-6654. Missouri State Medical Foundation Loan program Contact Patrick Mills for any address changes.
